Requirements Minimum educational qualifications:
Basic R425 qualification accredited with the SANC (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife or Psychiatric (where applicable). Post-basic qualification in Nursing Education registered with SANC.
Registration with a professional council:
Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse and Midwife or Psychiatric Nurse where applicable.
Experience:
Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/ recognisable nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience in Nursing Education after obtaining the 1- year post-basic qualification in Nursing Education.
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Possess knowledge of relevant Legislation, Acts, Prescripts and Policy frameworks informing the area of operation. Knowledge of nursing education programmes and curriculum. Proficiency in teaching and assessment in Nursing Education including evaluation approaches. Knowledge of policy development, interpretation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Sound conflict management and decision making / problem solving skills. Good research and analytical skills. Good managerial and interpersonal skills. Computer literacy.
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Provide education and training to student nurses. Coordinate clinical learning exposure to students between college and clinical areas. Conduct clinical accompaniment of students. Coordinate the teaching and learning undergraduate programmes. Develop and ensure implementation of quality assurance programmes. Collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders and build a sound relationship within the Department. Supervision of students. Participate in the development and review of nursing curricula for Undergraduate Diploma Programmes. Implements the new nursing programmes in line with SANC and CHE regulations. Participate in the provisioning of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities at the Campus. Participate in all governance structures of the College. Support the mission and promote the image of the College.
Inherent requirements of the job:
Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness to travel. Possess good communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills.

Remuneration
Grade 1: R 451 533 – R 530 376 (PN-D1) per annum, Grade 2: R 553 545 – R 726 717 (PN-D2) per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
