Paramedicine is a rapidly developing profession with career opportunities both nationally and internationally. Successful completion of the course could secure a graduate employment in the Provincial Emergency Medical Services, Local Municipal Emergency Medical Services, Private Emergency Medical Services, and the South African Fire and Rescue Services.
RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)
What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
RPL is a means of formally recognizing and crediting an individual’s knowledge and skills, regardless of where, when, and why this knowledge and skills were obtained.
Who qualifies for RPL?
- In principle, anyone who does not meet the minimum entry criteria for a programme and who can provide evidence of informal and non-formal learning can apply for RPL. Each application will be assessed individually for feasibility in terms of further RPL assessment process.
- Please note that in alignment with the Council on Higher Education Recognition of Prior Learning WCG College of Emergency Care cannot admit more than 10% of a cohort of students into the emergency medical care programmes.
