Diploma in Emergency Medical Care is a three-year full time programme which includes development of professional, vocational, and industry-specific knowledge; skills, applied competencies and professional attributes required for rendering quality pre-hospital emergency medical care to the communities within the Paramedics (advanced life support) scope of practice in a prehospital emergency care and rescue environment.
RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)
What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?
RPL is a means of formally recognizing and crediting an individual’s knowledge and skills, regardless of where, when, and why this knowledge and skills were obtained.
Who qualifies for RPL?
- In principle, anyone who does not meet the minimum entry criteria for a programme and who can provide evidence of informal and non-formal learning can apply for RPL. Each application will be assessed individually for feasibility in terms of further RPL assessment process.
- Please note that in alignment with the Council on Higher Education Recognition of Prior Learning WCG College of Emergency Care cannot admit more than 10% of a cohort of students into the emergency medical care programmes.
