About this course
Advanced Diploma in Midwifery is a one year programme. The objective of this programme is to prepare a nurse practitioner who will be able to demonstrate knowledge of people-centered midwifery and neonatal nursing care of patients in a variety of Health Care settings.
A qualification in Nursing will offer you endless possibilities from working in the local health sector at hospitals, clinics or non-governmental organisations to taking up opportunities abroad.
On completion of the Advanced Diploma in Midwifery, pitched at NQF Level 7, diplomats would have access
Vertical articulation to all other Postgraduate Diploma Programmes in nursing at the Western Cape College of Nursing e.g., Orthopaedic Nursing; Perioperative Nursing; Midwifery; Emergency Nursing; Primary Care Nursing; Adult Critical Care Nursing and Mental Health Nursing. Vertical articulation with postgraduate diploma programmes at other HEI`s and Public Nursing Colleges Nationally e.g., Health Service Management; Nursing Education; Forensic Nursing; Child Critical Care Nursing; Community Health Nursing; Infection Prevention and Control Nursing; Nephrology Nursing, Occupational Health Nursing; Oncology and Palliative Nursing and Ophthalmic Nursing.
